Christmas greeting from Gold Coast Tourist Parks
Christmas greeting / Thank you to guests / Past year’s Park highlights
Gold Coast Tourist Parks would like to wish all our guests a very happy holiday season and a wonderful Christmas. A heartfelt thank you to every single visitor who has stayed with us over the past 12 months. Whether you’ve come from up the road, across the country or overseas, it’s been a pleasure.
Summer holidays are here at last! The warm weather and long days make it the perfect time to stay at our Parks and we’re looking forward to seeing many of you over the festive season and into 2019. We love seeing families, couples and groups of friends congregate at their camp site, share a BBQ, make merry and raise a toast to the year gone by - and what a great year it’s been!
2018 was the year the Commonwealth Games came to the Gold Coast. The world class sporting event ran alongside an incredible cultural program, Festival 2018. With many free events, unexpected surprises and so many amazing sporting moments, it brought such a buzz to the city. We welcomed guests from all around the world to our Parks and were delighted to share some of the best spots on the Gold Coast with visitors from near and far.
Park improvements in the past year have favoured upgrading accessible and dog friendly features. Jacobs Well celebrated the instalment of a brand new amenities block and two new safari tents to cater for those who prefer glamping to camping. Comfortable and well equipped, these tents are built in natural surroundings and each one has its own private deck where you can sit and watch the water. One of the safari tents and the new amenities block are wheelchair accessible.
Kirra Beach Tourist Park upped the ante in 2018 in its quest to become the most dog-friendly caravan park on the Gold Coast. The number of dog friendly sites was expanded and a new self-service dog wash facility installed. No more sandy pooches bringing the beach into your caravan! Two legged and four legged creatures alike all gave it the seal of approval.
At Main Beach Tourist Park, completion of a new anti-slip coating to the pool surround has come just in time for the silly season. We apologise for the inconvience to guests staying over the last week and appreciate your understanding during the upgrade.
Each of our seven Parks has a smorgasbord of Christmas activities and events organised for the festive season. Everyone is catered for with regular visits by local food vans and movie nights, and the kids will be well looked after with Christmas craft activities, colouring in competitions, discos and visits from children’s entertainment characters like Ruby the Pirate and Wonder Woman!
Jacobs Well will be looking especially festive with the annual Christmas Lights competition – first prize is a $200 Bunnings voucher! Kick back to some live tunes at Tipplers Café, which will have live music on offer most weekends over the summer break. Find out what each Park has in store on the Blog and make sure to sign up soon – activities get booked out fast.
2019 Upcoming exciting Park projects
In 2018, all seven Gold Coast Tourist Parks were awarded a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence for great service and we intend to maintain this standard next year with many improvements and projects in the pipeline for 2019.
Our island campgrounds will also see improvements with new amenities for South Currigee Campground on South Stradbroke Island and improvements planned for the Tipplers Café kitchen. Campers on Tipplers won’t be left in the lurch – a mobile kitchen and coffee will be provided to the public while the works are completed. We look forward to a brilliant year ahead!
