Barefoot Bowls Rocks at Main Beach
Main Beach Guests stepped out this week for the Annual Barefoot Bowls Cup at the Southport Bowls club.
For the third consecutive year over 50 guests battled it out in the Main Beach Winter Bowls Championship.
Fantastic fun was had by all, guests commented they thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to meet other guests and take them on in a friendly game. Whilst we were not playing for sheep stations there was still plenty to play for.

The stakes where high with last years champions The Windmill Mob looking to make it back to back wins. It was a close finish with lots of friendly rivalry spurring on the field. A bowl off was required to split the tied runner up teams of the “Golden Oldies” and “Rookies” with Richard Herbert of the “Rookies” proving triumphant securing the runners up title for the “Rookies”. The honour of 2010 Main Beach Winter Barefoot Bowls Champions went to the SBT’s team – Noel and Jewel Pickavance and Steve and Barb Ferris.
After a couple of hours of bowls, guests enjoyed finger food, a few cool drinks whilst medals where presented to the Runners Up and Champions and the Main Beach Barefoot Bowls cup was handed over by last years winners to the 2010 champions.
