Broadwater Parklands Stage 3 Now Open

Broadwater Parklands Stage 3 was officially opened to the public in February 2016. Stage 3 continues the master plan vision for Broadwater Parklands, with the addition of 3.5 hectares of land to the north of the Gold Coast Aquatic Centre at Southport.

This project which was undertaken between January 2015 and February 2016 has provided a large open grassed parklands area on the eastern side of the Broadwater Tourist Park between the park and the beach area.

Whilst the Parklands area to the south of the park was opened in February, our guests have been enjoying the new parklands area in front of the park since Mid December 2015.

Guest feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, with guests loving the new perspective the parklands area provides for guests enjoyment. It has been fantastic to see guests now enjoying playing on this expansive area with many games of cricket and football being played in recent months.

Check out the pictures below of the new parklands area in front of the park as well as the parkland area to the south of the park which now provides

-       a four-lane boat ramp

-       82 car parks and 90 car trailer parks.

-       the Northern Pavilion, a new community facility and home for the Southport Amateur Fishing Club

-       an environmental education shelter

Check out some of the great comments below about the development and its impact on the park which we have extracted from our recently submitted guests reviews on Trip Advisor

Review by Bill S “Perfect Park” March 2016

They have recently put a grassed area between the park and the beach and what a delight this area is. It was a lovely to see so many people out enjoying this area with their kids it really is one of the best things they have done to the park, it was nice to be able to take our chairs down and site on the grass and watch our family who came to stay at the park on the weekend play on the grass and in the water.

Review by Miriam M “Top Park Love It” March 2016

It's recently had a foreshore makeover, so there is lots of grass between the park and the beach. Great for kids... And kites!

Review by Lorna G “Great Park” February 2016

The parkland at the foreshore is fabulous and allows families to gather and play cricket, fly kites etc. This is our favourite park and look forward to many family holidays at the park.

Review by Letty Lucy “Non Stop Family Fun” February 2016

The park is lovely; the new foreshore development is huge - ideal for cricket, picnics etc.

The beachfront grassed area is fantastic, we played cricket along with other families cricketing, playing soccer, frisbee and kite flying.
