A very sandy Christmas @ Ocean Beach

It’s that magical time of year again when families gather, kids run wild (in the best way), and someone always underestimates just how many prawns they’ll need on Christmas Day.

Here at Ocean Beach Tourist Park, we’re turning the school holidays into a festive, sun-soaked celebration of the good stuff: fresh air, family fun, belly laughs, and making Christmas memories you’ll talk about for years...often with mild embarrassment.

And yes, we’ve thrown in a few activities to keep things lively (and distract Uncle Dave when he starts retelling “that one story” again).

🎅 A Special Visit from Santa (…Or Someone Who Looks Suspiciously Like Pete)

Now, we don’t want to alarm anyone, but rumour has it that Santa himself will be making a grand appearance at Ocean Beach Tourist Park this Christmas. Is it the real Santa? Is it Pete in a beard he found at the bottom of the decorations box? We honestly can’t say. What we can confirm is he’ll be jolly, he’ll be sandy, his “Ho Ho Ho” might sound a little like Pete after a long day....and the kids will absolutely adore him anyway.

So keep your eyes peeled for a red suit, a belly that shakes like a bowl full of jelly and boots full of sand!

Whether he arrived on a sleigh or a golf cart is none of our business.

What matters is that Santa is coming to Ocean Beach—and he’s bringing festive cheer, big smiles, and probably a questionable wig.


Christmas is better outdoors (we checked). There’s no better way to bond as a family than attempting to line dance in sync. Will you get the steps right? Absolutely not.
Will you laugh together until your sides hurt? Every. Single. Time.

  • Line Dancing Night – Because nothing bonds a family faster than trying to figure out which left foot was supposed to go where.

  • Trivia Night – Work together, argue quietly, and blame Dad for shouting the wrong answer with absolute confidence.

  • Bingo Nights – The perfect mix of competition and confusion. Also an excellent way to discover which family member gets way too invested in numbers.

  • Finska Games – Outdoorsy, hilarious, and anyone can win… even the family member who throws like they’re aiming for another postcode.

  • Movie Nights Under the Stars – Snuggle up, relax, and enjoy a Christmas classic.

  • Site Decoration Competition – Untangle lights, debate tinsel placement, and create a display so bright Santa can see it from the sky… or at least from the amenities block.

  • Ocean Beach’s Got Talent – The annual showcase of hidden skills, brave performers, enthusiastic families, and acts that may or may not become part of Christmas lore forever.

Beyond the activities, glitter, and inevitable sunscreen battles, these holidays are about slowing down and enjoying the people who make life brighter.

At Ocean Beach Tourist Park, you get space to breathe, time to connect, the outdoors as your playground, and memories that outshine any gift under a tree.

So, pack your hats, your humour, and maybe a tinsel-covered esky… because Christmas is better when it’s spent with family, the great outdoors, and a splash of ocean magic.
