Welcome to Winter at Broadwater Tourist Park

Sunrise over the Broadwater
Waterfront at Broadwater with a Stunning Sunrise

Looking for a place to call home this winter? At Broadwater Tourist Park, we warmly welcome guests looking to escape the colder southern months and settle into a relaxed, friendly community by the water.

Each year, many of our winter visitors return to Broadwater to reconnect with friends, enjoy our welcoming atmosphere and make the most of the Gold Coast’s beautiful winter weather. With sunny days, waterfront views and a calendar full of social activities and events, it’s easy to see why so many guests make Broadwater part of their winter tradition.

Whether you’re travelling in your caravan, motorhome, camping setup or enjoying the comfort of one of our cabins, there’s always something to look forward to. Join in on pancake breakfasts, happy hours, bingo, sausage sizzles, craft sessions, community events and our much-loved Christmas in July celebrations — or simply enjoy a slower pace, morning walks along the Broadwater and afternoons spent soaking up the sunshine.

Whether you’re staying for a few nights, a few weeks or the whole winter season, we’d love to welcome you to our Broadwater community and help make Broadwater Tourist Park your home away from home this winter.

What’s On In Park This Winter?

🥞 Pancake Breakfasts & Sausage Sizzles

A winter stay at Broadwater Tourist Park wouldn’t be complete without joining us for one of our famous pancake breakfasts or delicious sausage sizzle lunches.

Proudly hosted by our managers and team, these weekly community gatherings are one of the highlights of winter in the park. Alternating between pancakes and sausage sizzles each Thursday throughout Winter 2026, these social events are all about bringing guests together, sharing good food and creating that welcoming Broadwater community spirit we’re known for.

We encourage all guests to wander down to our middle BBQ area, grab a plate, pull up a chair and enjoy a relaxed morning or lunch with fellow travellers. It’s the perfect opportunity to meet new friends, reconnect with familiar faces, swap travel stories and have a friendly chat with our management team and staff.

During the school holidays, our pancake breakfasts take on a special twist as we move to the front of the park for one of the Gold Coast’s most exciting local events — cheering on the dedicated marathon runners as they pass by, all while enjoying a delicious, sugar-loaded breakfast with one of the best spectator spots around!

Whether you’re a returning winter guest or joining us for the first time, there’s always a seat at the table at Broadwater.

🎲 Bingo & Social Active Sessions

Winter at Broadwater wouldn’t be complete without one of our favourite weekly traditions — BINGO!

Now, this isn’t your typical bingo… there may not be cash jackpots, but there are some very important chocolates and delicious treats on the line! Hosted weekly throughout winter (typically Tuesdays at 2:00pm, confirmed via our weekly activity sheets), guests are invited to join us in the games room for an afternoon of laughs, friendly competition and a little sweet motivation.

For just $2, you’ll be in it to win it, with bragging rights and chocolate prizes up for grabs!

Looking to balance out your bingo winnings? We’ve got you covered with some fantastic active and wellness sessions just a short stroll from the park.

Proudly hosted through the Active & Healthy Gold Coast Program, guests can enjoy:

🚶 Seniors Keep Moving / MatureFit
Held every Wednesday at 10:00am, this free class is perfect for keeping active, stretching the legs and staying moving during your winter stay. No bookings required — simply turn up and join in.

🧘 Yin Yoga with Bec

Both classes are hosted at the Northern Pavilion in Broadwater Parklands — conveniently located just a 2–3 minute walk from the park, making it easy to stay active while enjoying your winter escape.

🍷 Happy Hours & Fundraisers

Winter is all about bringing people together — and our monthly Happy Hours are one of the best ways to do just that.

Once a month, guests are invited to come together for an afternoon of good food, great company and plenty of laughs. We’ll put on a delicious spread to share, all you need to do is bring your favourite drink and settle in for a relaxed social catch-up with fellow guests, familiar faces and the Broadwater team.

Over the years, our Happy Hours have grown into something even more meaningful, becoming an opportunity for our wonderful park community to give back while having fun. Proudly supporting Dementia Australia, our winter fundraising events have become a highlight of the season, and thanks to the incredible generosity of our guests, last year’s three Happy Hours raised more than $1,300 for this important cause.

Adding to the fun, our Happy Hours feature exciting multi-draw raffles with an impressive line-up of prizes up for grabs. From meat trays and wine to local vouchers, gift hampers and more — there’s always something exciting to win.

🎪 First Winter Happy Hour – Monday 22 June
Our first Happy Hour of Winter 2026 kicks off with some fantastic prizes, including 2 x passes to opening night of The Great Australian Circus, plus meat trays, wine, food van vouchers and plenty more surprises.

☕ Biggest Morning Tea – Supporting Cancer Council

We’ll also be proudly hosting our annual Biggest Morning Tea this August (exact date to be confirmed), raising funds for the Cancer Council.

Cancer has touched the lives of so many of us — whether through family, friends, neighbours or fellow travellers — and this event is our way of coming together to support vital cancer research and services.

Join us for a beautiful morning of cakes, treats, tea and coffee, while enjoying great company and helping raise funds through raffles, number boards and fundraising activities. It’s a wonderful chance for our Broadwater community to connect, share stories and support a cause that means so much to many.

🎄 Christmas in July

One of the most anticipated winter events at

Broadwater Tourist Park — and a favourite among our returning winter guests is our much-loved Christmas in July celebration!

Keeping the festive spirit alive through the cooler months, this annual event brings our Broadwater community together for an afternoon full of delicious food, live entertainment, laughter and plenty of Christmas cheer.

🏃‍♂️ Gold Coast Marathon

One of the biggest weekends of the winter season at Broadwater Tourist Park is Gold Coast Marathon weekend and every year we proudly welcome back many familiar faces, supporters and competitors taking part in this iconic event.

Perfectly positioned just 1km from the Marathon start line and only 500m from the finish line, Broadwater is in one of the best locations to experience all the excitement of race weekend.

To make the occasion even more special, our regular Pancake Breakfast changes to Sunday and relocates to our arrivals area, giving guests the perfect opportunity to grab a delicious breakfast, head to the roadside and cheer on the incredible runners as they make their way through the course. There’s nothing quite like the atmosphere of Marathon morning — community spirit, determination and front-row views of one of the Gold Coast’s biggest events.

Whether you're running, supporting friends and family or simply soaking up the excitement, Marathon weekend is always a memorable one at Broadwater.

Please note: As Broadwater Tourist Park is located directly on the marathon course route, significant road closures will be in place:

Road closure information is available here via reception and emailed to all guests staying during this period to help you plan ahead and enjoy a stress-free stay.

🎡 Gold Coast Show

Skip the crowds and expense of the Ekka this year and experience one of the Gold Coast's favourite community events right here in Southport! Better yet, entry to the Gold Coast Show is completely free.

Held at the Broadwater Parklands and surrounding precinct, the Gold Coast Show offers a fantastic mix of entertainment, show rides, live performances, food vendors, agricultural displays, showbags, exhibits and family fun for all ages.

One of the best parts for Broadwater guests is our unbeatable location. We're practically part of the show itself, with the equestrian events, show jumping competitions and show dog displays taking place directly in front of our park along the waterfront. You can enjoy all the excitement and atmosphere just moments from your accommodation or site, making it one of the easiest and most convenient events to experience during your winter stay.

Whether you're looking to spend a full day exploring the showgrounds or simply enjoy watching the horses and competitions from nearby, the Gold Coast Show is a wonderful winter event that showcases the best of our local community.
